[TheForge] OT (?) What's this?

I also thought of a meat hook, but was wondering about the tapered section, too.  It looks like it has a slot in it for a wedge.  It looks like it could either be hung by the threaded rod or mounted in a stake plate or hardie hole.  Interesting....

That is along the lines of what I was thinking, but what would the
bottom tapered section be used for?

One suggestion is that it is for hanging animals on in a slaughterhouse.
