Ron,
I am confused, are you using oxygen and propane?

I've used the same acetylene regulator with propane for 15 years with no
problems- a #3 propane tip for the big Smith for serious cutting and the
small Victor as-is for localized heating, etc. Ron C

Consider propane as a fuel. In the UK anyway it's cheaper and a bottle
lasts much longer as it comes as a pressurised andnot dissolved gas. I
can also get it much easier, and don't pay rental on the bottle. Unless
you want to weld it will do everything acetylene does but at a slightly
lower temperature.
You will need a different regulator, hose and cutting / heating nozzles
for propane.

Hello
I am looking to purchase a torch set, for an occasional cutting task and
for localized heating of objects. What options, attributes or other
factors should I be considering?
Thank you
lynn
