Dave,
Why go to the trouble of heat treating HOT work tools?
How long would it take a thin slitting chisel to reach 700dF when in contact
w/ 2000dF
orange hot steel?
I have been using spring, as forged, for about 19 yrs. w/ good life.
IMHO.
