Mark,
If it's carbon steel, I use CO2, if it is SS I use
that "Super Argon Mix" that many suppliers have on
hand. It's also depends on what type of MIG wire you
are using. If it has a core to it that generates the
gas sgield, CO2 is helpful, but not always needed. If
it is solid, you need the shielding gas.
