As long as we are taking flights of fancy, a simpler approach might be 
to bolt a good sized electric motor to the stake (big all thread u 
bolts) and mount on off balance weight to the shaft and let it run with 
penetrating oil.   I have made these vibrators before for 
sandblasters.   The off center weight  is easy to make, just drill a 
hole a 1/2 inch from the side of a chunk of square and drill and tap it 
for a set screw.
