Not very.  OTOH, subsonic might be effective: suspend the block/stake
combo upside down on something pretty hefty, then go aboard of it with
a pavement-breaker sized jackhammer at 10 Hz.  Probably pop that
sucker out in no time.  Easier to borrow a big mutha jackhammer and
compressor than a wading pool sized sonicator, too. :-)

Jobs like this are just about the only thing I use my 16# sledge
hammer for -- e.g. getting a 1-7/16" shaft out of a flatbelt pulley.
But I wouldn't want to counsel a move that might bust your swage
block.
