Maybe try soaking it in kerosene or hanging by the stake and building a
wood fire under the swadge block. If you get the block hot that way it
probably wont crack even if it drops a few inches into the wood fire. A
couple of heat cycles might work well, get it to about 300 and let it cool
then build the fire back up again, repeat
