Thought those of you here who know me might be interested to know that
I just got an SCA award, in part for my smithing activities. It's
called a Manche- it's a Kingdom award of High Merit for activities in
the Arts and Sciences we indulge in. While I am indeed honored, I'm
more interested because it's going to be a help, in my efforts to
teach more people smithing, here in out little SCA world- and, as far
as I'm concerned, improving smithing, and the reputation it has, as
well as the access that "normal" people have to good smiths is very
much a goal of mine. Was, however, more honored than I knew, as I
realized just how many of the people I like and respect best in SCA
are also holders of the award ;-) They may focus on other Arts, but it
is good to be grouped with people who love and paractice their arts,
no matter what they might be ;-)

Priorities:
It's the smith who makes the tools, not the tools which make the smith.

notices I have read with pleasure. -Clarence Darrow
