I vote for Birmingham:
1. Better climate
2. Friendly people
3. Tannehill
4. Very active Blacksmith group
5. Members of said group are always willing to help
There may be as many positives for Vermont; it is pretty and the people are
friendly....
Same for Illinois; it can't be all bad- my cousin has a studio there.

Subject: [TheForge] moving on
hello;
it is a new year and on 6 jan 2008 will be
the 5 month anniversary of the head-on-collision.
with now two legal nightmares with neither one
looking like it will be resolved in short order,
i have decided do get on with living.
it is clear that i need to go back to college
to update my education and to vocational rehabilitate
myself. so far i have researched several colleges
that are reasonablly handicapped friendly and that
are willing to work with me.
the colleges are located in birmingham, alabama,
montpelier, vermont, and urbana-champaign, illinois.
urbana-champaign, illinois, i am familar with. that
is where i attended college originally many decades
ago.
birmingham, alabama and montpelier, vermont, i am
not familar with. yes, i could google and find many
interesting web pages about both locations but none
of those would offer the first hand point-of-view
of people on e-mail lists.
i would like to hear from list members about the
pros and cons of birmingham, alabama and montpelier,
vermont.
