[TheForge] vanishing resources

hello;

for several months now i have noticed that
two of my favorite resources are disappearing
from the marketplace.

the large metal coffee cans are being replaced
with plastic containers. have to be really careful
building a small forge or crucible furnace in
one of those.

the institutional size metal cans are also being
replaced by plastic containers.

not only am i losing the metal can as a resource
but also the lids. i used the lids for many 
repairs and fixes.

even gallon paint cans are being replaced with plastic
containers.

so i am faced with either rolling my own cans or
finding a suitable replacement resource.

rolling my own cans is not feasible at this time.
i am left with finding a suitable replacement
resource. i would like to hear from list members
what are the possible replacement resources.
