Jerry,
I totally agree about the living history. My grandfather did a lot of writing about his life, memories, family, places, and experiences. I also gave him a tape recorder about a year before he died, and he recorded a lot. I do miss him and his stories. In his early years he worked as a yard manager for a railroad. Later he coordinated all of the oil shipments from the Texaco refinery in Port Arthur, Texas. So he had lots of stories about sea captains and steam locomotives.

Aubrey,
A lady who lived down the street from me in
Westerville, Ohio, a Mrs Varney, actually saw the
Wright Brother fly, but not the first flight and watch
Neil Armstong walk on the moon during her life time.
She also remembers Carter Cars and many auto makers
that vanished many long years ago. This are people
that we need to get a living history from.
