If your in serious doudt, sandwich a piece of tool
steel that you know and trust, in between two pieces
of the chain steel. Or split the chain steel down one
side and weld in the good steel(technique is called
San Mai and was used in Japanese blade construction
for knives, daggers, and swords). Then make your
blade.
