Andy,
I haven't made a fire screen.  But Dick Naven just finished a fine Craftsman
Style screen.  He used 8 mesh, which means the wires are 1/8" on centers;
the wire gauge is 26. I don't know where he bought the material. I can ask

Could someone please recommend a wire size for the screen on a freestanding
fire screen? I spent some time on McMaster's website but with 98948.9834 X
10^7 choices it just gave me a headache... Thanks!
