Good idea, Lee. It's on the list. But it's way down, below powering
the air hammer, building a charcoal kiln, upgrading the compressor
motor and installing heat in the shop. :-)
Actually, there are two kinds of "popple" in the grove and I'd have to
consult a book after they leaf out to figure out which was which.
I once had sideboards for my '47 Cornbinder pickup made from "popple"
boards and they were indestructable. Although the truck wasn't
garaged, they were up in the air to dry out easily. Bolts of poplar
left in the woodpile get punky here in less than a year. But maybe
that's only one of the two or three related kinds that grow here.
I'll have to check that out come spring. Real Soon Now, please? :-)
Well, I hauled a load of seaweed home for the potato patch today.
Made spring *feel* closer, that did.
The moon is back to normal as I write. I guess it wasn't the Great
Dog Garm and the Fimbulwinter this time.
