It doesn't matter, strictly a personal choice. 

I know farriers that have horn pointing to either left or right, and the
same for artist-blacksmiths.
Figure out which way is safest and most comfortable for you, and get back to
work.

I always had enough room around my anvil to be able to work from either side
of the horn if needed. 

This has been a running gag between Phil R. and myself for years, and I
guess that is why it came up again.  Bad Phil!
