For those that Wireless won't work, you can look at a powerline alternative:

There were a number of different brands of these made at one point.    
They vary in their ability to deal with noisy powerlines. Oddly, many do 
better than wireless phones with electrically noisy environments.  Once 
you have a standard phone jack (more or less) then you can use any 
standard phone annunciator I am guessing, like:
