Hi Peter;
Got that. Just think there's room here for rants and off topic
explorations. We have had many in the past and some had real
substance.
This is a very diverse group of characters and we need to give
them as much room as possible or it will become an intolerably
stilted conversation.
If the Subject line is marked "OT", then they are easily avoided
when one only wants to read and speak of blacksmithing.
Oh yeah, and it was more retail slaughter of wildlife, not
"wholesale". Grin.
Metal work then;
I trucked the contents of my father's shop home recently, and
as with many of our shops, the contents were unlabeled and,
unfortunately mixed. By the age of 90, he'd become pretty
disorganized. I've spent days on end sorting boxes of mixed stuff.
Short of firing up a torch and melting the end of each rod...does
anyone have any hints as to how to identify different sorts of
silver solders and specialty brazing rods?
One kind that there's a fair amount of, has a faint, white wash
on one end.
Peter
