[TheForge] OT: Squirrels and maple sap?

Have you tried a telescope?

I bought a 40x spotting scope at a garage sale for
$1.00 that shows a nail head 200' away. Last summer I
was able to focus on a goshawk's nostril at about 150'.
The guy even threw in a little folding tripod.

Another thought. Are there bugs on the trees? Squirrels
will eat nearly anything including trout. I turned
around just in time to see a squirrel taking one of
mine up a tree. Sat on a branch and laughed at me while
it ate too. Pesky little bastids!
