You will get warm. Bring enough water for you to drink at least a 16
ounce bottle an hour. Always have one at your hand. Have extra drinks
for changing out when water starts to taste bad<G>. Have a few extra
drinks to offer other vendors who come by for a visit. I have found
that other vendors tend to be friendly and helpful. We have been doing
demos and sales for about 10 years now and have only had two things
stolen of which we are aware. We are pretty aware usually.

If you can, find a friend (even one who doesn't hammer but wants to) to
come by and learn at your side and help to load and unload. It is more
fun with two (I bring my wife<G>), and also while you are showing them
how to hammer you are doing a simple explanation that the public will
also understand.

Yes, a rope around the area would be great. Children and adults are not
knowledgeable or don't care. I actually yelled "HOT HOT HOT HOT" with
increasing volume as I watched a mother and 4 children walk right
through my area when the forge was running. The shortest one felt the
heat and changed direction. All the others just looked at me and kept
walking. Of course I could have been more eloquent, but most any sane
person being helled at by a large fella holding a hammer would stop and
ask why am I cross.
