On some versions of the 4x6 bandsaw the upper wheel can walk a little in
or out on the bearing that is pressed into the center of the wheel. I
corrected this on mine by drilling and tapping a hole just off to the
side of the bearing so the head of the pan head screw threaded into the
hole catches the outer race of the bearing. Before this modification,
the upper wheel the would wonder out so far the blade was starting to
cut through the blade guard, or wonder in and grind off the threads on
the adjusting screw. Now the wheel stays in alignment and the blade
tracks perfectly.
