I thought wisteria would grow through solid concrete here in the deep 
South. When it grows in a spiral around a small sassafras it makes a neat
broom handle for a fireplace set.

Well, if you want to kill off the things you don't want growing, get a 
goat.  The wisteria we have been trying to get to grow hasn't had a 
chance. :(
