I had a friend have a washing machine quit.  It had filled up but then 
wouldn't run.  She went ahead and ordered a new one. She told me that if I 
would bale the water out I could have the old one.  I did, and when I got it 
home I popped the back off to discover a mouse nest in the motor fan.  After 
removing the nest the washer worked just fine.
