Forge welding with grinder droppings didn't work for me. I was told to mix
it with borax- bad idea. Band saw bits should work ok. Put a magnet in a
plastic bag, pick up the metal bits then turn the bag inside out and remove
the magnet. Ron C

Some smiths around here use a flux that is a mixture of boric acid (roach 
kill) and iron oxide.  They get the iron oxide from the pottery suppliers. 
I don't understand the chemistry of what is happening at the melt 
temperatures.  This flux seems to work very well for them.
