[TheForge] Wally Yater Swage Blocks on eBay

Phil,

I have a pair of the original blocks. Each one weighs approx 125 lbs and has been ground smooth rather than the rough castings available elsewhere notably Centaur Forge and Pieh Tools. When Wally sold them they cost approx $250 for the pair. I have one of the last pair made. I bought mine in 1994 or 1995 while Sofa's Tipp City conference was still at Studebaker's. I remember carrying several firepots at Wally's request, to a Canadian smith coming down from Ontario.

$2000 does seem rather steep. Maybe if Wally could have gotten that kind of price, he'd still be making them.
