And yours is a wonderful description that should be in a tutorial  
somewhere...but this is a sideways scroll that's all in one HORIZONTAL  
plane: The handrail ends over a post and curls away from the stairs, and I  
want to put a little circle on the end, like the scroll you described in  
section.
If I could do a gigantic bolt end scroll with a 1 1/2" bolt and then cut a  
section through the bolt that would be it...still not the best  
description...
