Hi All,
thanks for all the information

For a competition "Best in Show" they give you a 25"
fiberglass dog to decorate. i have it with a forged
lily pad on its back with bog turtles on it and
forged cattails and foliage put through drilled holes
in the legs and bondo's in place to appear like it is
in water. It will be outside for 4 months. i want to
acrylic stain it with sponged on pigment to permit the
steel to show through cover with krylon acrylic. Can i
get away without priming and have acrylic directly on
the steel.

I miss the product that was produced by benjamin moore
that created iron silicate and a glass finish but was
discontinued due to VOC regs.

they say that they will cover all the dogs with an
acrylic auto clear coat once submitted. it seems that
this heavy coating would cover all wounds for 4 months
outside. WOndering about any ideas.

thanks
