[TheForge] Kinyon power hammer plans...

Air hammers are like a mouse trap.  They are armed, dangerous, and
totally ignored due to the fact that they are quiet.  If you do place
the compressor out of the shop (which I would do anyway), put a definite
kill switch in line with the hammer that bleeds down when it is off (no
residual pressure to surprise anyone), and place some sort of sign
across the hammer when it is armed and ready.
