I was looking for a simple track and trolley system to move heavy parts
in my basement and found:

http://www.unistrut.com/Browse/cat_pg.php?P=S05_Trolley

Unistrut and all the clones out there are available in different gauges
and designs. I haven't seen curved sections, but they could be
fabricated. You might even build a switch system to send the trolleys
down different paths. I know the trolley weight limit is 600 lbs., but
they could be paralleled for a higher capacity. I would probably abuse
the weight limits in my own shop, but not buy much or for long...
If nothing else these may be the 21st Century equivalent of the barn
trolleys
