Back in my day job many years ago we had a female metallurgist they called 
BAM-BAM  for Broad A--ed Metallurgist but this was in the days before sexual 
harassment suits.  She was a very talented metallurgist and the BAM thing 
was rather dumb and put forth by male metallurgists that were not her equal. 
I would pick her for my team any day.  I think she was a Rolla grad. 
(University of Missouri, Rolla, used to be school of mines.  One of the best 
Met schools in the country.  Good school for EE and ME too.)
