I can personally vouch for the extreme difficulties involved in setting
up and running a conference. Did it in 2004 in Casselton North Dakota
for an experimental rocketry organization. Even with the total
cooperation of the town and airport, it took us 8 months to set up and
running the thing was not much fun. We had launches, seminars, contests,
the works.
And we lost money.
I'm a very recent member and am willing to cut ABANA some slack. Got my
first "Hammers Blow" and am happy. I do want to see progress. I used to
belong to another group that had major problems with dues and
publications. Major bloodletting. I hope that doesn't happen here.
