I can personally vouch for the extreme difficulties involved in setting 
up and running a conference. Did it in 2004 in Casselton North Dakota 
for an experimental rocketry organization. Even with the total 
cooperation of the town and airport, it took us 8 months to set up and 
running the thing was not much fun. We had launches, seminars, contests, 
the works.

And we lost money.

I'm a very recent member and am willing to cut ABANA some slack. Got my 
first "Hammers Blow" and am happy. I do want to see progress. I used to 
belong to another group that had major problems with dues and 
publications. Major bloodletting. I hope that doesn't happen here.
