i have had real good luck making Damascus steel blades out of them
they give a real nice wavy pattern. make sure you degrease them first. i
found that the carbon seems to interfere with the welding process. also be
very careful with the temperature. it is pretty hard to hit the right heat
on such thin metal, but with a little practice, you will pleased with the
results. check with local chain saw sharpeners and they will usually give
you more chains than you can use.
