One way:
Cut chain in fourths, alternate directions, tack ends.
No need to tack middle, but you can wire wrap.
At least 3 carbon contents on chain(pins, links, and cutters), but don't
understand mower blades.?

Subject: [TheForge] Making billets from Chain Saw Chains
I have a few chains for my chain saw that are worn out
kicking around the shop and was thinking making for
billets from them.
Should I tack weld the ends and maybe a few places
having the chain folded up?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
BTW old law mower blades do make interesting Damascus.
Jerry
