Al, these sound pretty expensive, but you do know your machinery; appx how
much does the floor model made by Ellis cost? Is Ellis a brand you sell? We
are very satisfied with the equipment Mike bought from you at Madison.(You
did a good job demonstrating it). (-:/>

Bill, I bought an old used Delta in 1955 when they were made in USA. It
still works fine but doesn't have the features the newer ones have. One
caveat when considering a used one: be sure, esp on a floor model, to check
the run-out. It's easy and can save a lot of grief. Just take an index rod
with you upon inspection.

Ellis Manufacturing is in Wisc. and makes great drills presses.

115 v
#3 morse taper
instant variable from 0 - 100% of any speed setting
auto down feed
will drill and tap a 3/4" hole in 1" plate
I have great success with them in many places
IF you have a need to call the factory, you can even talk to a member of the
Ellis family with your question.

Try doing that with out of country brands.
