most of the stains on the inside of the stainless steel
pots and pans are from being forgotten on the stove over
heat. whatever was cooking burned (sometimes with flames)
leaving black stains in the stainless steel.

the aluminum pots and pans are stained with dark stains
from being used to cook acidic foods.
