[TheForge] Trip Hammer Advice

A few of us were looking at setting up a 50# LG (I
think) this summer. It was set up originally to run off
a line shaft and we were kicking ideas around for
changing over from a flat belt. My thought was to use a
small rubber wheel or tire straight off the motor for
the drive, like the newly developing tire hammer. The
new owner used a pair of "V" belts with no problem. I
agree with going with a proven tech but would've liked
to experiment a bit.

Frosty,
Thanks. I think I'm in the right BPM range based on my
research. I got the motor wired up yesterday and
almost have the motor mount fabricated. I might be
able to take it for a little test drive by this
afternoon. I still need to tighten up the ram gibs to
take out the slop. It sounds simple enough in theory.
We shall see....

Aubrey
