Mark this on your calendars..

The 20th Annual Batson Bladesmithing Symposium will be April 4,5 & 6 2008
at Tannehill State Park just south of Birmingham, AL (www.tannehill.org)

This will be the biggest blade shindig of the millennium..
In appreciation of 20 years of blade enthusiasts attending the hammer-in

the 2008 symposium will be FREE to all comers.

The normal cost is $125 per attendee but the AFC decided to show our
appreciation to those that make it all possible.

Here is what I know so far... from Jim Batson

"the Alabama Forge Council is celebrating next years 20th anniversary of
the Bladesmithing Symposium by letting everyone in free. The primary
Demonstrators will be Wade Colter, Rick Dunkerley, Richard Williams and
Alan Longmire. We are also inviting all our demonstrators back for a home
coming ( there are more than 70). I am making up a list of past demonstrators."

"We will have an Old Timey Rendezvous area with period dress, tents, trade
blankets, etc along with our normal demonstrations. We plan on having a
youth geen coal for Boy Scouts and other youths. We will provide a site so
that the past demonstrators may demonstrate or just meet the participants.
We should have the best knife show ever. The AFC will depend on the
donations of the participants and auction to defray the expenses."

so mark you calendars now and plan on attending.. As more information is
released I'll post it here..
