Only thing that comes close to or exceeds the control of an OA torch is TIG.
Sometimes I can't do certain jobs as well with TIG as I can with OA. With
either you can join a leaf stem to a branch seamlessly. Just heat the stem
until you begin to get a puddle and set the leaf stem into that puddle just
like a piece of filler rod. When it melts: Voila!
Looks like it grew there. :)
Problem with TIG is: A decent machine with good current control and AC for
aluminum starts at ~US$2000. That's unless you want to take your chances
with a Chinese box. Some of those are ~$900 on ebay.
