This is a bare metal compound, though there are pigmented (bronze and black)
permalacs, which are then covered with clear.  Permalac may be applied over

Thank you David!!  I've been trying to use the search function for these
very same questions.  I was told that I should do that.  I'm trying to
figure out what the forum is for if I can't use it to ask stuff.  I don't

Can Permalac be applied over a wax or oil finish, such as beeswax or
dried linseed oil?  How about over paint?  Or does it only adhere to
bare metal?
