[TheForge] A simple hole

Reading about it was nice and all, but doing it was slick. Almost dark and
I need a 1/2" hole in half inch plate. Decided to try the cole #7 hand
drill that's been buried in the back of the shop for years. Grabbed a rusty
drill bit from the junk pilel, it did have an edge that grabbed my finger,
and after spending some time figuring how to set it up I had it clamped to
the work table that needed another hole. Crank it a few times and then
tighten the nut a bit. Hurt my hand to tighten so I got a big pair of
pliars since I couldn't come up with a wrench big enough, but then after a
few quick series I jammed the bit and it took a while to figure how to get
it loose. Did that twice before I realized that the way to turn the depth
nut was by hand. All in all it may have taken 10 minutes after I started
drilling but then it was my first hole by headlight and I'd already had a
drink. It was slick and I didn't need a cord or some expensive gas.
Luckily it doesn't take much to make me happy.
