Bruce, Unless I misunderstood Jerry, folks with a "I be a smif" 
registration at the full conference price would not be paying the nickel 
and dime rate and would walk into the demos with a badge or some other 
kind of pass.
 The general public would get the freebie demos(outside the fence) at 
the day rate. If they wanted to sit with the smiths in a tech demo they 
would cough up another $50. Their added numbers at the gate and the 
"professional" demo surcharges would help defray the costs for the rest 
of us or at least add to the war chest at ABANA.

I Like this idea. It would get more folks in and still leave room at the 
interesting demos for those who could appreciate what they were seeing.
