[TheForge] positive pressure room

Jerry,
You forgot to include bugs. Spray paint seems to act like a magnet for flying
wrigglers determined to commit bugicide in the middle of a perfect paint job.:-)

I'll say this again - You don't want a positive pressure room for grinding. You
want negative pressure caused by your collection system.

Do you really want your dust blowing out into your shop? Paint booths are
completely different because you don't want dust coming into the room.

I only have a couple things to add to the thread, most
has been covered pretty well.

If you set up a dust collector system be very careful
what kinds of grinding dust you mix in it, some make
pretty flamable mixtures.

If you have a swamp cooler available it'll make a
superb filter. The water flowing over the humidifying
mats will remove most everything from the air. You
might have to turn up the water supply a bit to get a
good water curtain.

The only downside to a positive pressure room is if
there's a leak to the rest of the shop, it'll blow
dust, fumes, etc. into the shop as or more easily as it
will through the filters.

I've planned a "clean" room in my shop to keep the
welding, grinding, smithin crud off my machine tools,
etc.

For the exhaust system in the shop I laid an underfloor
grid of 3" PVC pipe with 2" receiver tubes on a 2'
grid. The receiver tubes will be floor anchors, tool
post mounts, exhaust ports and whatever else fits.
