[TheForge] TIG Welder

Well, "obviously false" is putting it a little harshly.
They want to sell welders, of course.
But they also want to make sure they sell you more welder than you
need, rather than less.
But there would be times when you would want that much amperage for
some tig welding. Probably not on mild. But certainly on copper, or
aluminum.

Take it with a grain of salt, but dont let it reflect on the product-
which is great.
We have 2 tigs, a push pull, a spool gun, 2 migs, a spot welder, a
buzzbox, and a plasma cutter, all Miller.
One, yep ONE repair, on all those machines, in 25 years or so of
owning miller. And I have 2 employees- we run machines hard every day.
So the basic machines are solid, and good value for the money.

200 amps is a good size for a tig- I wouldnt go any smaller. 250 is
better, but it really depends what you do.

Yes, 250-325 amps is what Miller says one needs to lap weld 1/4" mild
or stainless steel with a TIG. Why would Miller say this when it is
obviously false?
