Yes.  Oh, yes.  It's really a bummer to wake up on the other side of
the shop/yard with the job half done and a piece of your face missing.

Or better yet, go find one of those steel-drum muckles -- two
specially shaped hooks on link rods attached to a sturdy ring -- that
stevedores and riggers use for lifting drums.  (Anybody know
the proper name for this thing?)

Or make a clamp-on, removable, 1/8" x 2" band with lift rings.  It's not
like you're going to have to move your drum several times a day.
