I liked Bealers book. I still pick it up now and then and page thru. I
never have understood why some think it is useless.
But the book that really helped me was...
Blacksmithing for the Home Craftsman
by Joe Pehoski
This book (really more like a pamphlet) has good instruction on running
a coal/coke fire and good plans on making a cut off hardy and a pair of
tongs. I paid $3 for it (new) from Centuar back then. I see there are
three copies on Amazon (used). No idea if it's still available new.
