[TheForge] oxy-propane after all

It's been a couple years since I checked the price but
everything's gone up. I'd pass on the special tank even
if it wasn't $50. So, at the current price it'd only
pay for itself twice over before you go through a 20lb.
tank of propane. I'd still spend the bucks today, even
if it only paid for itself once per 20lb. bottle of
propane.
I have two oxy acet sets hanging in the Connex and have
no intention of ever hooking them up. I used to have
three but gave one away.
The All-States torch has a thumb valve so you don't
need a gas saver. It's one of the ways it saves you
consumables and time. You set the torch for whatever
you're doing and turn it off. Once you have the work
ready to cut, heat, braze, etc. you turn it on, do the
work and shut it off. It's especially economical for
repetitive operations.
You can speed it up even more by clipping either their
electric igniter or the positive lead of a battery
charger to the torch handle and the ground to the
table. When you're ready to light up, you open the
thumb valve and brush the tip against the table, the
spark lights it up and away you go.

If it ain't forged
it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.
