Subject: RE: [TheForge] Swage block stands
Working here at the University I get limited chances to scrounge VERY
GOOD/HEAVY bed frames...If I see one on the side of the road away from
work I will grab it also...Free steel is a good thing given the price
these days...Especially for those of us that fabricate our own
benches/stands etc....
My anvil stand was built w/all scrounged materials as well as my welding
stand/cart...Just about all of my stands/carts were scrounged
carts/material for building carts...
Mark
MI made one out of bed frame but it was a bit springy it needed to be
beefed up. I'll use at least 1&1/2" x 1/4" angle on the next one. Bed
frame is hard as woodpecker lips.
