Mine are made similarly, but instead of a flat spot on a ring, I made
mine with two rings and a hook. They also work perfectly well with two
hooks and a ring, and they can seperate for a spit or for packing,
without needing tools.

Just put the first coat of stain on my uprights, guys- I'm getting there ;-)
