You guys are great. Isn't that the epitome of soul satisfaction? Jerry is
right; my shop is far from kid proof so we play outside in the dirty dirt
and clean air. Grt granddaughter is good about safety- even in cars. Teach
'em young and hope they remember- I think they will. Grown-ups give you the
hardest time about the inconvenience of safety but its simple: obey the
safety rules or they don't get to play.

My granddaughter will be 4 in August.  Too young for the hot stuff, but she
likes to hammer nails, saw wood with a hand saw, etc.  Her favorite is
digging holes in the sand with the kid-sized shovel I got her at the
hardware store.  She is learning some shop safety wearing ear muffs & eye
protection.  She has a really big head for her age, so fit is not so much of
a problem.

Lon,

Wayne Goddard wrote about a triple quench & temper for 5200 in "Blade" a
year or so ago. Have you seen the article?

Kids: How old is your daughter? My 4 yo Gt'granddaughter wants to "make the
stuff Paw Paw makes". I made her a hammer and she can drive nails really
well. I have some super soft aluminum rod and I'm thinking about letting her
play with that cold....I need to find some good eye protection for a small
head. Her Princess glasses look a bit flimsey. No, I haven't bought her a
30-06 yet; she gets a saddle for the horses first.
