Hi, when we went to the Lowes and Home depot kid project days. They got aprons and goggles. No $ and the kids get to put together a small project kids keep the apron and goggles. They use the goggles around the shop too. Tye (10) is just starting to play with hot stuff and using the mig. Trevor (4) likes hammering nails and running the hand cranked grinder and drillpress.

My granddaughter will be 4 in August. Too young for the hot stuff, but she likes to hammer nails, saw wood with a hand saw, etc. Her favorite is digging holes in the sand with the kid-sized shovel I got her at the hardware store. She is learning some shop safety wearing ear muffs & eye protection. She has a really big head for her age, so fit is not so much of a problem.
Aubrey

Lon,
Wayne Goddard wrote about a triple quench & temper for 5200 in "Blade" a
year or so ago. Have you seen the article?
Kids: How old is your daughter? My 4 yo Gt'granddaughter wants to "make the
stuff Paw Paw makes". I made her a hammer and she can drive nails really
well. I have some super soft aluminum rod and I'm thinking about letting her
play with that cold....I need to find some good eye protection for a small
head. Her Princess glasses look a bit flimsey. No, I haven't bought her a
30-06 yet; she gets a saddle for the horses first.
