It's all relative geographically.
Here in Ga. , typ.summer day is 98d. and 98% humidity. You get used to 
(aclimated) it, or wilt.
If you are in northern Mich. you might not need A/C.
But that wasn't the question.
Even w/ our heat, I just have fans(no A/C). But the one trick you can try 
is:
an attic fan turned around to blow cool air from the North wall down low, to 
force hot out the top.The firemen(bless their hearts) use those kinds to 
evacuate smoke from a building , not suction.
